Brad’s life is turned upside down when he moves from New York to Louisiana. First, the dog he raised as a puppy greets him with a snarl and a growl and looks ready to attack, then he’s whacked in the leg and pushed down by an iguana, and to top it all, the girl of his dreams (the one he just met) is engaged to marry a perfect jerk.

Tessa – the dream girl – is studying to be a veterinarian. She is smart, passionate about animals, owns a beautiful plantation passed along to her by inheritance, but for some odd reason chooses to live in an  old trailer out in the boonies.

Sparks and fireworks fly at their first meeting. Brad doesn’t understand a lot of things, but mostly why this gorgeously smart Acadian beauty has to marry someone she doesn’t even like. And Tess… well she’s just trying to do the right thing, and is both annoyed at and attracted to Brad, who constantly gets in her way.
